KVTA's 2022 Youth Summer Theatre Camp presents We Will Rock You Young@Part! Every camper will be a part of this musical which is inspired by and features the songs of Queen!

Another audition day Bites The Dust!  Thank you to all of the campers who auditioned yesterday. We saw so many talented youth which made our casting job very difficult…you are all indeed Champions! We are looking forward to being able to Break Free and rock with both of our amazing casts! Just a reminder that our parent/cast meeting is Monday, June 20th at 6 p.m. at the KVTA Studios. Parents, please bring a pen and cash/check to purchase performance tickets and have the campers bring a pencil.

Congratulations to our AM and PM session We Will Rock You Summer Theatre Camp 2022 casts!

We cannot wait to create with all of you!

CAMPER AGE LIMITS: Must be 8 and no older than 17 by the first day of camp (July 11)

ENTRY FEE: $150 non-refundable fee. The deadline for registrations is June 1 or until the camp is full.

Each camper receives a free camp shirt and free stage make-up kit.

Campers must bring their own water bottle every day and a snack, if permitted.

There will be a placement audition held for all campers to determine which role each child will be cast in. A child must be registered as a camper to audition. Remember, every camper registered will have a role in the We Will Rock You musical. Campers will be split into 2 different time slots for camp, either 9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm (25 campers per time slot). One group will perform the musical at 2pm on July 23 and one group will perform at 7pm on July 23.
Auditions are scheduled for Friday, June 17.
Campers will be sent audition information prior to the auditions. Campers will be given the script at the parent (guardian)/cast meeting as campers should have music memorized as much as possible by the first day of camp, so they can concentrate on the choreography they will be learning, improving their vocal performance, characterization, helping with other areas of the production, participating in theatre games, developing friendships, etc. The songs that the specific camper is in will be told to them at the parent (guardian)/cast meeting so they know what they specifically need to memorize and rehearse prior to the first day of camp.
A parent/guardian will need to attend the audition with their child. All campers and one parent/guardian will need to attend the mandatory cast/parent (guardian) meeting on June 20 at 6pm.

Important Update from the KVTA Board of Directors:

Face masks are recommended, not required, throughout the entirety of each production.

This policy will be in effect until further notice.

CAMP INTERN INFORMATION:
KVTA will be looking to use interns for our summer camp. Interns will assist in ALL aspects of the camp, including placement auditions and the performances. Interns will work with the camp staff during the day and still be able to have their evenings free. Our interns will get a great hands-on learning experience and serve as a mentor and role model for our young campers.

CAMP VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:

Running a theatre camp and putting on a performance requires many people. We are looking for volunteers to assist with one or both camps. We need parents/adults who can help us one day or every day during camp. Volunteers help with kid patrol, costumes, make-up, props, set construction/decorating, stage crew etc. We could use 3 volunteers each day to assist the director(s) or to act as chairman of production committees.
