JUNE 10-14 & 17-21  9 AM-3 PM

June 24   9 AM-3 PM

LOCATION: Kankakee High School

June 25 and 26    7 PM

LOCATION: Kankakee High School

*Because we are putting on a production at the end of camp, campers are expected to attend all days of camp, tech, and performances.

Ages: Must be 7 and no older than 16 by the first day of camp (June 10)

Price: $250 for first camper and $50 less ($200) for each additional sibling (please note, there are no refunds).

Each camper receives a free camp shirt and free stage make-up kit. Campers must bring their own lunch every day but drinks and snacks will be provided.

There will be placement auditions held for all campers to determine which role each child will play. A child must be registered as a camper to audition. Remember, every camper registered will be cast in Disney’s High School Musical.

Auditions are tentatively scheduled for May 15 and 16 in the evening.

Campers will be sent audition information in April, 2019. Campers will be given scripts during their auditions and CDs of the music as campers should have lines and music memorized as much as possible by the first day of camp so they can concentrate on choreography they will be learning, improving their vocal performance, characterization, helping with other areas of the production, participating in theatre games, developing friendships, etc.

Parents will need to attend the audition with their child.

KVTA will be looking to use interns for our summer camps.  Interns will assist in ALL aspects of the camp, including placement auditions and the performances.  Work with us during the day and still be able to have your evenings free.  Our interns will get a great hands-on learning experience and serve as a mentor and role model for our young campers.

Running a theatre camp and putting on a performance requires many people.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with one or both camps.  We need parents/adults who can help us one day or every day during camp.  Volunteers help with snacks, kid patrol, costumes, make-up, props, set construction/decorating, stage crew etc.  We could use 3 volunteers each day to assist the director(s) or to act as chairman of production committees.
