Countdown To Opening Night!
THE ALIBIS ~ Eight talented (and devious!) playwrights find the comedy in crime in this rogues’ gallery of ten-minute plays wrapped in a classic whodunit. When eccentric billionaire J. Leslie Arlington is murdered, a clueless detective finds the suspects are all reluctant to admit their alibis... because they were all committing other ridiculous crimes at the time. You never know what’s coming next when the suspects include disgruntled chefs, teen detectives and vengeful divas, but one thing’s for certain: every alibi is absolutely absurd.
THIS PRODUCTION IS A FULL-LENGTH PLAY FEATURING OUR ACTORS UNDER THE AGE OF 17. THIS IS NOT AN ADULT PRODUCTION.
Lap sitting is not permitted as every person must have their own ticket. No children under 3 will be permitted. No refunds or exchanges. All sales are final.

- Time slots are currently limited to 10 auditioners per time slot.
- Additional time slots may be added and/or the number of auditioners per time slot may be increased, if needed.
- If you cannot attend any of these audition time slots, please email the Director at kvta.sharla@gmail.com and we will come up with a suitable option for everyone involved.
- Auditioners may audition for BOTH The Alibis and Newsies JR. If you receive a part in The Alibis, ALL of those rehearsal dates MUST be listed on your conflict calendar for Newsies JR. Receiving a role in The Alibis will not preclude any auditioner from being considered for Newsies JR.
All auditioners must be at least 6 years of age and no older than 17 years of age by January 15, 2027; and actors of any ethnicity/race are encouraged to audition for any part.
Audition Form can be downloaded here: MICROSOFT WORD PDF
Conflict Calendar can be downloaded HERE.
ANTICIPATED REHEARSAL TIMES:
Rehearsals will start the week of December 7, 2026. Individual cast members can expect to have rehearsal up to five times per week. While we are learning blocking and running scenes, not all actors will be needed at all rehearsals. Once we begin running the show, rehearsals will be full cast. We will not rehearse on December 24-26 nor December 31-January 1.
Please list all conflicts that you have Monday-Friday, from 6:00-9:00, and Saturday from 10:00 am-2:00 pm, December 7 through January 9. We will not rehearse during all of those time slots every week; those are simply the possible time slots. Conflicts will not preclude you from being cast; they are needed for us to develop a rehearsal schedule, which will be based on cast and staff availability. If at all possible, we would appreciate minimal conflicts in January. Attendance during Tech Week (January 11-17) is mandatory.
Rehearsal dates are subject to change. We want to have all of the cast at ALL of our final tech rehearsals, so please be open and honest when completing your conflict calendar. Please be sure to list all of your conflicts from the audition date through the final performance date. If you have any questions about the information provided here, please email the Director, Sharla Ronchetto, at KVTA.sharla@gmail.com.
INITIAL AUDITION FORMAT:
At the initial audition, everyone will read three monologues of their choice from the list provided. You are highly encouraged to have at least one of the monologues memorized, although that is not required. You should be very familiar with the monologues that you choose, even if they are not fully memorized. Try to show a different character personality for each monologue so that we can see your acting range.

CALLBACK INFORMATION:
Callbacks will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2026 beginning at 6:00 PM. Receiving a callback does not guarantee anyone a role in this production.

If for any reason you cannot make this callback date, PLEASE email the Director before your audition, or tell the board member working the check-in table at auditions.
