DISNEY'S MARY POPPINS JR. ~ The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that, "Anything can happen if you let it." Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins JR. is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs and breathtaking dance numbers.

Your favorite practically perfect nanny takes center stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious adventure based on the award-winning Broadway musical and classic Walt Disney film. Based on one of the most popular Disney movies of all time and the Broadway musical that played for over 2,500 performances and received multiple Olivier and Tony Awards nominations, Disney and Cameron
Mackintosh's Mary Poppins is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect Broadway Junior musical!

All those cast in MARY POPPINS JR are required to become a KVTA member at some level (minimum $25) by a certain date during the rehearsal process. One parent being a member of KVTA does cover the membership requirement for all family members 17 and under. Memberships paid during the 2021-2022 season will also fulfill this requirement.

January and February rehearsals will be 3 to 4 times per week (there will be a mandatory cast/parent meeting at 6:30 pm on December 20, 2021, but then the next rehearsal will start after the holidays on January 3, 2022). March rehearsals might be every night, depending on how well the cast is doing at that time. We will add some weekend rehearsals especially for dance, if necessary. That has not been finalized yet, but we want you to be aware of this before you grant your child permission to complete the audition process.

WE ARE ADDING FLYING TO OUR PRODUCTION. WE WILL HAVE A REHEARSAL ON FRIDAY, MARCH 25 AND SATURDAY, MARCH 26 FOR MARY POPPINS AND MISS ANDREWS WHICH ARE MANDATORY FOR THESE CHARACTERS. THERE WILL ALSO BE DANCE REHEARSAL ON SATURDAY, MARCH 26 WHILE FLIGHT REHEARSAL IS OCCURRING FOR ALL OTHER CHARACTERS. Rehearsal dates are subject to change. We want to have the entire cast at ALL of our final tech rehearsals, so please be open and honest when completing your auditioner’s conflict calendar. These dates are Friday, April 1 and April 4-April 7. Please be sure to fill out all of the conflicts for your child from the audition date through the final performance date. If you have any questions about the information provided here, please ask ahead of time by emailing the Director, Debbie Emling, at At this time, masks are required for all rehearsals, and clear face shields are required to be worn by all actors for the performances.
